Guard Patrol System
Guard Patrol System
Also known as Security Guard Tracking System
India’s most advanced guard tour system — helping organizations design and enhance security by ensuring personnel perform their duties effectively and that critical areas are inspected at the correct intervals.
What is a Guard Patrol System?
A Guard Patrol System — also known as a Security Guard Tracking System — is a security solution specifically designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of security personnel. Specifically, it helps organizations track guard movements, verify checkpoint visits, and generate auditable patrol records for legal or insurance purposes.
Furthermore, it is a fingerprint patrol tour device with a 1.44-inch LCD display that ensures the right employee makes their appointed rounds at the correct intervals. Consequently, it provides a virtually indisputable record of security activity that can be used for compliance, insurance, and performance management.
Security Guards carry a handheld device as they patrol a property to each of the main checkpoints where Location RFID Tags are placed. As a result, the device records the date and time at each checkpoint, and this data can be viewed in report format through the software installed on a monitoring PC.
eSSL Guard Patrol System — Key Benefits
eSSL Guard Patrol System helps improve the efficiency of security patrols. In particular, these systems can help reduce the number of guards needed to patrol a property while simultaneously increasing coverage and accountability.
📍 Real-Time Tracking
Track guard location in real-time using GPS. Furthermore, managers can view patrol progress live and receive instant alerts if a guard deviates from their assigned route.
📋 Detailed Reporting
Generate comprehensive reports on guard movements — time spent at each location, routes taken, and missed checkpoints. Consequently, performance evaluation becomes data-driven and objective.
🔗 System Integration
Integrates with access control systems and CCTV — allowing a more comprehensive security solution across your entire facility.
💰 Cost Reduction
By ensuring guards are performing their rounds correctly, organizations can reduce redundant coverage and identify inefficiencies — as a result, significantly reducing overall security costs.
How the Guard Tour System Works
The system provides a means to record the exact time when a security guard reaches certain checkpoints on their patrol tour. Specifically, watch stations are placed at critical points such as vital equipment rooms, server rooms, entry gates, and access points.
Guard is assigned a fingerprint patrol device programmed with their patrol plan and shift schedule.
At each checkpoint, the guard taps the RFID tag. Consequently, the device records the checkpoint’s serial number, date, and time automatically.
After the shift, the device is connected via USB (or synced via 4G) to download all patrol logs to the computer software.
ZK Patrol Software generates detailed reports — pinpointing missed checkpoints, patrol gaps, and coverage analysis for management review.
Main Applications of Guard Patrol Systems
Guard patrol systems are versatile tools used across a wide range of industries and use cases. Specifically, any environment where regular inspections, rounds, or service routes must be verified can benefit from a guard tour system.

Guard Patrol System — Usage Rules & Guidelines
To ensure accurate reporting and reliable operation, it is important to follow the correct procedures when using the guard patrol device. Specifically, these guidelines ensure the patrol plan generates proper records for management review.
- One shift can be assigned to one employee and one device only
- If a plan is already assigned to one employee, it cannot be reassigned to another
- Battery backup is 12 hours of sustained use — charge the device after each shift
- Fingerprint punch is required both before and after patrolling
- Only USB communication is supported for data synchronization
- Authentication method can be switched between fingerprint and card
- User enrolment must be completed through the software before use
- Keep the device in the guard patrol base while not in use — this also charges the device
- Place the device in the patrol base when synchronizing data
- Guard must follow the assigned plan correctly for reports to generate accurately
- Any changes to the plan must be made in the software and then synchronized to the device
